Welcome to the West Coast Whistle Company's home page! We are the makers of Elf Song penny whistles. Elves are busy building whistles in their workshop, situated on Vancouver Island in the Oceanside town of Ladysmith, B.C. Canada.

GHB Chanter Whistles

We have developed a whistle with the same holes as a highland chanter. These will enable pipers to play songs using familiar fingerings and give them the opportunity to join in at sessions without having to be in a different room! Currently we make them in the keys of Bb & D.   The pipes are not tuned to the standard 440 that most concert instruments are. For the Bb chanter whistle, we have decided to deal with this by creating enough room for the whistle to be tuned sharp to play with pipers yet allow the room to pull the mouthpiece back to play at 440.  Yes, chanter whistles do have the thumb hole at the back, 7 holes in the front and are played by using the same fingering as the GHB Bag pipes.

They are available in Handmade and Manufactured versions.
